The Musser family make artisanal cheese the old fashioned way, and source their growth-hormone-free milk from small, family Amish and Mennonite farms less than 30 miles from the creamery.
Prairie Breeze™
A twist on a well-aged cheddar, Prairie Breeze™ is unlike any other.
Sweeter than your typical cheddar, Prairie Breeze starts with adding a proprietary blend of cultures and vegetarian rennet to coagulate the milk. The curds are cheddared and then aged for a minimum of 9 months.
Anyone who’s tasted Prairie Breeze knows that this cheese is different, but perhaps couldn’t put a finger on it. While it has the tangy, piquant, umami-rich flavor of many quality cheddars, a prevailing sweet and nutty profile emerges. It is full flavored with hints of pineapple and almond undertones. A crumbly texture develops along with an abundant amount of tyrosine crystals. Its paste is fudgy on the palate allowing it to linger on the tongue.
We like to say it is affordable enough for back of the house yet sophisticated enough for front of the house and it can compete against any imported specialty cheddar.
No surprise it is a six-time award winner!

Morning Harvest
Morning Harvest, an “American Original”, draws on Milton Creamery’s expertise in creating cheddar-style cheeses, while also allowing their Swiss and German roots to shine.
This style of making cheese along with the proprietary blend of cultures results in a cheese that has an incredibly fruity aroma with a subtly sweet flavor and a creamy texture. It truly is unique.
Upon first taste, you’ll find notes of sweet cream and buttered popcorn with a lovely lingering finish. Aged for at least 7 months, it is firm yet sliceable in texture with superb meltability similar to that of a Havarti or Fontina.
The cheese is a collaboration between Milton Creamery and Kentucky-owned dairy farmers, which is the foundation of their purpose: to support the American Dairy Farming Community.

Old Style Cheddar
Old Style Cheddar has been developed from years of cheese-making, perfecting this cheese into a creamy, salty and slightly sweet bite with a creamy, smooth texture.
We like to call our Old Style Cheddar a nice, approachable, everyday cheese.
Aged for five to seven months, it’s a highly versatile cheddar that can be used in many recipe applications.

4 Alarm Cheddar is a unique cheddar made with ghost, chili, chipotle, and jalapeño peppers. Not quite 5 alarms, but definitely more than 3.
This scorcher from Milton Creamery uses the ghost pepper to live up to its name. Still, no need to be frightened; it has a lovely creaminess to keep the fire from burning out of control.
Pair with slices of crisp fruit, such as apples or pears.
Enjoy in quesadillas and tacos, or as a flavorful addition to southwest-style salads, alongside avocados and tomatoes.

Quark is German-style cream cheese, traditionally fresh and tangy.
But this “cream cheese” is like no other and is unlike any you’ve ever tasted. It’s simple and rich in a way that only a pure food can be.
In German traditions, Quark was made daily from the milk of the family cow. We have revived this tradition to bring you a fresh cream cheese without any fillers.
This soft, naturally spreadable cheese has a higher protein content than Greek yogurt and is delectable in both savory and sweet dishes or on its own.
Spread on a piece of fresh jalapeño cheddar bread for a snack made in heaven, or on plain toast with a bit of honey.
Use a dollop on a fresh fruit pie or crisp.

Cheese Curds
Our Cheddar Cheese Curds are made fresh every week and are a staff favorite, as well as for many of our customers.
They are an addictive snacking cheese due to their mild, fresh milk and salty flavor. The curds can be eaten straight out of the bag, deep fried, and are the star ingredient in a Poutine.
If you want the curds to “squeak”, warm them up for about 10-15 seconds in the microwave. Warm curds are squeaky curds.
